For Sir Ken

Dear Educators,

Sir Ken Robinson passed last week after a brief battle with cancer. His TED talk changed my outlook and career profoundly. I was lucky enough to hear him speak on innovation in 2016, and I am proud to say that in asking for his autograph, I behaved like he was a rock star…because to me, he was.

Sir Ken Robinson stood for a new type of education—one that empowers students and encourages them to be their authentic, creative selves. He wanted us to move away from a factory style of learning where there is a “right” answer and a “wrong” answer. He wanted our students to feel the power and responsibility befitting of the impact they will have on our world when it becomes theirs to shape.

As sad as I am that he’s gone, I’m inspired by his work and committed to continuing his work on this planet without him. I selected a set of resources this week that aim to inspire your students to be creative, empowered, and authentic.
